All About Friday Night Outdoor Racing

  • Where do you race? Hall Park, Eastwood. Gates open around 5.30pm
  • What Can I Race? 2wd & 4wd Buggies, Short course. GT12, minis and Touring Cars
  • What time do we start? We currently open the gates at 5.30pm with racing starting by 6.30pm latest. We are always fighting the available daylight outdoors so the sooner we start the more racing we have!
  • Are there any class rules? Rules for each class are opposite.
  • What do I need to bring? Tables and chairs are needed.
  • Is there Power for charging? No. 12 volt batteries are required or a small generator.
  • Do I have to do anything? All help with setting up and putting away of the trace is appreciated. It is hoped that all racers help where possible.
  • How much does it cost? Members pay £4 Non Members pay £6. membership details here.
  • Must my car be in good condition? Your car needs to be in a good state of repair with no sharp or dangerous protrusions. Please ensure no screws stick out underneath. The is to protect all people there and our track.
  • Do I need to marshall? Everybody who races is expected to marshall the heat after they race. You are expected to spread yourselves around the track evenly and marshall any cars as quickly as possible.
  • Are there drinks and food available? There is no food or drink available at the track. There are toilets available.
  • Do you run a championship? We will run a championship over the outdoor season and will hand prizes out to the top three drivers where there have been enough entrants to warrant a prize.

Class Rules!

Buggies
  • No motor restrictions.
  • Free tyre choice
  • No sharp protrusions from the chassis or body. If your car damages the astroturf you will be excluded from racing until your car is repaired or made suitable.

Short Course.
  • Motors - 10.5 2wd limit, open 4wd limit
  • No sharp protrusions from the chassis or body. If your car damages the carpet you will be excluded from racing until your car is repaired or made suitable.
  • Free choice of tyres.

Touring Cars
  • Classes - Stock 17.5 brushless, blinky mode or 27 turn brushed. Open - Anything faster than stock.
  • Chassis. Any 4wd / 2wd touring car chassis
  • Bodyshell Any suitable touring car body shell.
  • Touring cars will be split into the 2 classes wherever numbers allow.
  • Scale Saloon Class as per club rules.

Minis
  • 2wd chassis only, FWD or RWD
  • Any motor can be used. Brushed or brushless.
  • Bodyshells must be representative of a 2wd car

Anything Else?

We will try to cater for whatever you want to race such as F1 or drift cars. Please turn up and we will endeavour to give you some track time where possible!
